The same extension, lit at dusk

The same extension photographed after dark, and the reason external lighting is worth setting out properly at first fix rather than adding afterwards.
Up-and-down wall lights wash the render evenly along the elevation, picking up the smooth finish and the shadow line under the eaves, while the doors and windows glow from inside. A garden elevation that only works in daylight is doing half a job — in Yorkshire, most of the year it's dark before anyone gets home.
The paving, the threshold and the planting were finished at the same time, so the completed job hands over as one thing rather than three.
